IN LOVING MEMORY OF CHARLEY

Our Charley was more than a dog; she was the heart and soul of our family, a bright spirit who lived every single day with pure joy and boundless love.

Our life with Charley began on December 24th, 2015 — a Christmas Eve “Gotcha Day” that gave our family one of the greatest gifts we could ever have received.

She was surrounded by the best places on earth – from the sparkling shores and beautiful sunsets of Lake Huron where she loved to walk, fetch her water toy and dig holes in the sand, to the wide-open spaces of the farm where she could run free and enjoy endless six-wheeler rides in the fields.

At home, her yard was her kingdom. She ruled it with a happy bounce in her step, always on high alert and ready to chase away any cheeky squirrels that dared cross her path. During the winters she loved to cuddle by the fire. But as much as she loved her adventures she LOVED her people and her neighbourhood even more. She grew up surrounded by warmth, a familiar face to every neighbour and a loyal, playful friend to all of her fellow fur-baby companions.

Charley leaves behind paw prints on our hearts that will never fade. Though her yard is quieter now and the squirrels can scamper in peace, the memory of her wagging tail, her sweet companionship, and her immense capacity for love will live on forever.

Run free, sweet Charley, by the lake and through the fields. You were so deeply loved.

Charley is loved and missed by Joanne, Steve, their children and their many friends, family and neighbours who were a big part of Charley’s love filled life.
