In Loving Memory of Lux
My Shadow, My Sill, My Best Friend.
Lux came into my life unexpectedly—she was a stray, whom I agreed to foster for two weeks. Little did they know, I had fallen completely in love and secretly prayed no one would come forward to claim her. During this time it was brought to our attention that Lux had been abandoned; a feeling she wouldn’t have to experience ever again.
From the moment she walked through the door, Lux brought us so much love and happiness. Her tennis ball was her greatest treasure and her favorite pastime. She was gentle, loyal and endlessly silly earning her the nickname “My Sill.” And she truly was my shadow, always a few steps behind me no matter where I went.
She helped me raise two children, with a quiet strength and patient heart that only a dog like her could offer. She loved bell peppers and salami, and she loved us—fully, unconditionally.
Now that she’s gone, I feel a deep peace knowing she was so loved, and that she got the life she deserved. But the silence she leaves behind is heavy. Her absence will always ache.
Lux wasn’t just a pet—she was my best friend, my constant, my Sill. I will miss her forever.
