Micah Leon

Everyone says their dog was one of a kind, and they’re right. But Micah was the one everyone noticed to be different. It wasn’t something you saw from a picture or at first glance, it’s what you saw in his eyes when he looked at you.
He was a rescue, found months old in the snow in February. After he was rehomed safe and sound to me, he never took us for granted. That’s where he was different. All dogs can show loyalty, adoration, and passion for you, but he had that something more that always showed how grateful he was to have a roof, food, and a home that loved him to pieces.
He was the dog who didn’t know why I hugged him when I was sad, didn’t particularly like it, but sat still until I’d gotten all the hugs I needed. He didn’t understand why he needed to be quiet at times, but he did it anyway just to be as helpful as he could.
Micah loved playing with a ball more than any other kind of play. He also loved his adopted sister, almost to a fault, letting her get away with anything. Most of all, he loved me at least as much as I loved him. I believe dogs love more than humans do; they’re selfless and endearing. Even so, I loved him as much as my human heart could.
Forever in our hearts, you can never be replaced. I love you buddy.
