Nikki Chalmers

August 8th 2012 - October 6th 2026

Nikki came into our lives through the Boston Terrier Rescue of Canada and the help of their caring members. Thanks to their wonderful rescue, Nikki found her forever home with us, where she spent her days enjoying life's simplest pleasures.

Whether she was basking in the sunshine, spending time at the trailer, helping us make sauerkraut as our official quality control inspector, or sneaking her favourite vegetables from the garden, Nikki certainly knew how to enjoy life!

We affectionately called her our “Hungry Hungry Hippo” because eating wasn't just something Nikki loved, it was practically her favourite hobby! And while she loved us both, there was no question that Daddy was her number one person, with Mommy coming in a close second. 💜

This past spring, Nikki experienced a frightening health setback when she began losing her balance, circling, and developing a significant head tilt. We feared the worst, with a possible stroke or brain tumour being considered. But in true Nikki fashion, she rallied and blessed us with another beautiful summer together.

Sadly, when her symptoms returned, we could see that our sweet girl was no longer comfortable. At 14 years old, we made the heartbreaking but loving decision to give Nikki the peaceful goodbye she deserved.

We are so grateful that we chose to have Black Creek come to our home. Nikki was able to remain in the comfort and familiarity of her own surroundings, without the fear and anxiety she experienced during visits to the veterinary clinic.

We miss our sweet girl dearly and will forever treasure the memories, the laughter, and all the little moments that made Nikki so special.

Thank you, Nikki, for all the love and happiness you brought into our lives. We are so grateful that our paths crossed and that we got to be your forever family.

💜

Nikki is deeply loved and missed by both Frank & Lori and the team at the Boston Rescue
