Sally Freiberg
2009 - May 14, 2024
Sally came to us along with her brother Harry when they were about 3 years of age. They had a troubled and difficult past, and although Harry quickly adjusted to his new home, sister Sally never did fully come out of her shell.
She was our hermit, preferring a reclusive lifestyle, as we honoured her unique and solitary ways. Afraid to go outside, Sally would occasionally watch the world go by from a window or our sliding doors, but most times she was seen on, or under a bed, a safe distance from any human interaction.
When Sally eventually did snuggle with a two-legged member it was always on her terms. After many failed attempts, we discovered her sweet spot - right behind the ears - which meant she would tolerate us a tad longer for a scratch and cuddle, before skittering away back to the safety of a nearby bed.
Sally taught us many things… patience, compassion, respect.
We miss this green-eyed soul with all our hearts and are truly grateful for all the lessons learned - our lives are better for having loved her.
Much love from,
Stella, Walter, Hunter & Cole
