Tigger Walters

aka Tiggs/Tiggy

Dec 2007 – June 4, 2024

We found Tigger at the London Humane Society, she was known as “Hillary” to the staff.  My daughter Sarah wanted a cuddly kitty and the staff said “Oh you need to meet Hillary” and took us to meet her. I myself was not a fan of torties however she was such a snuggle bug with Sarah how could I say no.  We brought her home on Aug 13 2008 and she immediately made herself at home much to the dismay of our other cat Mittens.  They eventually became friends but alas Mittens crossed the rainbow bridge early in 2009 leaving Tigger alone.

I thought she needed a playmate so along came Jack, he was the same age however Jack and Tigger had one of those love/hate relationships.  Jack was a very feisty male who wanted to be with Tigger all the time. She let him know very quickly who the Queen of the castle was and when she wasn’t in the mood to play.  They also bonded and always snuggled up in one of several beds they had to choose from.  Jack unfortunately crossed the rainbow bridge on June 10, 2022 and Tigger missed him very much, she wandered around from room to room for quite a while looking for him and meowing.

She had some quirky habits like nuzzling her nose into my arm and licking me all the time, she always had a paw on my arm when we curled up on the couch.

I was her “mom”.  She was not fond of young children but tolerated them to a point.   I bought many different foods and treats so she had a buffet to choose from however she wasn’t really interested anymore in eating.

I still look for you and hear your meow….it feels empty without you here.

I was able to hold your paws when you crossed the rainbow bridge and I know you are at peace.

Needless to say I loved your "tortitude" and you have made me a fan of the "Torties"

You were loved very much by the whole family.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Laura, Dr. Erica and Adrienne for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time. Words cannot express how grateful I am to all of you for allowing Tigger to have such a peaceful journey over the rainbow bridge. You have truly made such a difference in my life.
