Addie

November 15, 2020 – March 8, 2026

Addie (aka Booper aka Sunshine Baby Dog) left us far too soon, after sharing the blessings of his life for five short years. 

Addie exemplified everything magical about the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed:  he was loyal, intelligent, proud, loving and so handsome he could stop traffic. Anyone who met Addie learned that he saved his best self for his most special people.  You knew when you had been chosen. 

The ultimate pandemic puppy, Addie kept polite company during office hours (save for one or two memorable Zoom appearances) but jumped on the desk at 5pm to make sure we got on with the important business of play, food and snuggle time.  

Addie’s greatest joy was trail running, preferably somewhere with a good stream and some wide-open spaces to let loose.  He charmed us with his festival of silly sleeps, challenged us with his intensity and determination, trained us to be his humble servants with the expertise of B.F. Skinner, and took care of each of us with tenderness and devotion. 

For those of us lucky enough to be Addie’s people, there could never have been enough time. 

We take comfort knowing his spirit is running free, in the warmth of the eternal Spring.
