Astrid Hodgetts
2010 to May 20th 2022
More time...isn't that what we all desire when our loved ones are ill?
Astrid came to us from the humane society a number of years ago as a dignified middle aged lady. We never knew much about her earlier life, but she was our girl right from the start. Astrid was not one for playing much with cat toys....she left that silliness to other members of our fur family. She loved her sunny spots, bird watching and tummy rubs. Any box, laundry basket, container or new surface just had to be experienced, explored and claimed as her own, no matter the size or shape.
Sweet Astrid was an independent woman, living life on her terms, but at the same time affectionate; loving to curl up on laps, or next to me in bed, singing her high pitched, unique purr, the elongated notes I will hear in my head for a long time to come....
I don't have to hide my yarn anymore....but I wish I did. I don't have to tuck the Kleenex into the box....but miss doing that. No longer will I have a little grey companion sitting on the edge of the bathtub, trying to touch the running water...but picture her doing that every night.
Safe and happy travels, my love...we are grateful that you let us be a part of your life.
Sweet soul Astrid is eternally loved and missed by Lisa, Bill, Marmalade and Luken
