Bess Ross
06/29/2006 - 10/19/2021
We adopted Bess eleven years ago from a rescue shelter. She was surrendered by her first family because she was a “bad dog”. She had been so abused and mistreated that it took us years to earn her trust and have her settle in with us. During that time she damaged some stuff (mostly baseboards, door frames and furniture. And she ripped the electrical panel out of the back of my jeep…twice) but it was all just stuff. For the first few years of her life, our youngest daughter actually thought that Bess' name was “Oh Bess!” Most of our friends and family remarked that Bess was lucky to have found us (because another family would surely have given up on her).
But we were the lucky ones. And she returned our love tenfold. You could not hope to have a sweeter, gentler, more loyal dog than Bess.
Saying goodbye to you is so hard. But we know that the biggest love we can give you right now is to let you go. Run free, sweet puppy. Follow your nose, smell all of the smells, and eat all of the treats.
We love you, Bess. You have left a giant hole in our family and in our hearts.
Bess is eternally loved and missed by JD, Tina, Bailey, Gracie and Stella
