Leopold Ysselstein
07/01/2006 - 09/17/2021
Leopold (affectionately called PoPo), the long-haired Dachshund lived 16 very best doggy years with his wiener-brother and best friend Danny. These dachshund brothers were so very closely bonded with each other, but also with their amazing pet parents Debbie & Rick. The engagement between these boys and their parents was sooo beautiful. No matter where Leopold was, Danny was always right beside him.
Leopold fought a long and courageous battle with Canine Heart Disease, and his pet parents were always willing to do everything and anything to help him. Typically seen with any aging pup, but especially with dachshunds, Leopold also faced a variety of mobility concerns in his senior years. He was a fighter though, he had so much will and zest for life, he never wanted to give up.
Leopold loved going to the family cottage located on an island. What amazing memories this family has of Leopold riding on the boat and always out exploring the water’s edge. Another one of Leopold’s favourites was riding in the travel seat of the motorcycle! Leopold lived a life full of adventure, brotherly love, and the special treat of drinking the occasional coffee!
Leopold is eternally loved and missed by,
Debbie, Rick, many family, friends and relatives, and of course, Danny.
