Chester McClure-Lierman
April 8th 2011 - May 8th 2026In Loving Memory of Chester
Chester joined our family on June 19, 2011, and from the very first moment, we loved him. He was a faithful companion with a gentle spirit and a fiercely independent streak, but he loved us deeply — and we loved him right back.
He earned the nickname “the boat baby” for good reason. Nothing made him happier than a ride across the water, ears in the wind, taking in the world like the captain of his own little ship.
When Charlie came home in 2019, Chester wasn’t exactly impressed with his new little brother. But Charlie adored him from the start, following him everywhere, much to Chester’s chagrin. Over time, Chester learned to tolerate — and in his own quiet way, care for — the puppy who idolized him.
When Charlie passed unexpectedly in January 2025, Chester became our one and only again. He settled into the peace and quiet, and in his senior years he especially loved visiting the cottage, sitting on the dock, and of course, going for boat rides.
Chester lived to celebrate his 15th birthday — a milestone none of us took for granted. When he became ill in January 2024, I asked him to wait for me to come home, and he surprised everyone, including his vet, by giving us two more precious years. After Charlie passed, I begged him to stay with us a little longer, and he did — for more than a year.
After he turned 15, we knew our time with him was drawing near. But Chester, in true Chester fashion, stayed as long as he could.
Thank you, dear boy, for choosing us. We are forever grateful for your love, your loyalty, and the joy you brought into our lives. You will always be our boat baby.
Chester is deeply missed and loved by Catherine, Chris, Jane & Ben, and their many friends and family members who were also a part of Chester’s life
