Copper Brown

May 21,2008 - January 3,2022

Copper was a basset hound/collie mix. He was named after the hound dog on the movie Fox and the Hound. He spent 13.5 beautiful yet short years loving us and being so very loved.

Copper lived a good life that was full of adventure including many car rides, a few boat rides, a few different front porches, back decks and backyards to call his own. He loved running on the farm. He was super spoiled by his parents (as every dog should be) & even had his own set of stairs to crawl into their bed.

He was quite the character and had so many quirks about him. He left an impression on everyone he met. Everyone fell in love with him the second they met him, even if they weren’t “dog people”.

Copper had an old man attitude long before he was an old man. He was an old & gentle soul and was always so calm and chill. He always seemed so observant and loved to watch over everyone while just taking it all in.

He was the referee. Any time dogs were playing and chasing each other he would just bark because his legs were too short to keep up with the others but he still wanted to be involved in the game.

The cold, rain, snow and heat never seemed to bother him. He just loved being outside. His favourite word was “walk”. His most favourite thing was going for walks as well as sun tanning on the back deck.

Copper hoarded bones. The more bones the better, if a dog came over and we gave them a bone he would take theirs as well so he would have two and they would have none. He was a bit of a bully that way!

He had a hound dog howl but the only time we ever heard it was when the church bells would ring or when we played the song “Stay with Me” by Sam Smith.

He was the best friend you could ever ask for. He had a heart of gold, but only for those who held space for him. He was the best big brother to his baby sister Luna. She loved him SO SO much.

We would choose Copper forever, a thousand times over and over. If our next dog is half of what Copper was, we will be very, very lucky.

Our minds still talk to you and our hearts still look for you, but our souls know you are at peace. No longer by our sides but forever in our hearts.

Copper is deeply missed and forever Loved by Kirby, Adam & Luna

❤️ Until we meet again ❤️
