Eeyore Ng
Gotcha Day Aug 8, 2019 - Dec 6, 2021
Although we wished we had more time with him and had him as a puppy, Eeyore came into our lives as a spunky senior boy who was full of energy and so much love to give!
During the slightly under 2.5 years that he was with us, he left us with many fond memories. We will always remember him chasing after his ball, or chasing after his humans who had his ball, or just plain ole chasing any ball. We will remember how he would give us those puppy dog eyes and not so subtle nose shoves to get extra food, and we remember how he would jump up against the counter trying to steal some bacon, pizza or sausage. David tells everyone how Eeyore stole his hot dog buns while he was on the phone trying to find out if Eeyore needed emergency services after getting into his bottle of osteosupport supplements… Oh, he would have done anything for food but it was hard to stay mad at him!
Eeyore was a tough cookie – we remember how he would slip on icy sidewalks or plunge into “snout-high” snow, but he never let it keep him down. He would get right back up again from the ice like a trooper or barrel through the snow. Eeyore used to get all excited for his walks, and would nudge us humans impatiently toward the door and drag the younger ones down the sidewalk. His floppy ears would bounce up and down as he trotted outside exploring the neighbourhood, and occasionally he would defend the backyard from rabbits (or try to anyway) and his happy dance during meal times was always fun to watch.
Whilst Eeyore was never a super cuddly lap dog, he enjoyed the company of his humans and liked to snuggle close to us. Toward the end, it was tough to see Eeyore slow down and struggle to walk or even get up on his own. He became a shell of the dog he once was and it was painful to see him that way.
We were so thankful to be able to say goodbye to him at home, giving him final pats, hugs, kisses and ice cream. He was a good boy to the end, and brought lots of joy into our lives for the short time we had with him. We hope he is running around in doggy heaven now, watching over us and remembering the good times we shared together.
We will cherish all of the memories and
Eeyore will always remain our dog and part of our family.
With love, Joy, David, Amy & Clara.
