No more greeting us happily at the door or your waltz to go to bed.
We will miss your snuggles when we get sick,
You protected us in your sleep,
Convinced your love was the healing trick,
We know your love for us ran so deep.
12 years does not seem long enough,
But I don’t think any amount would ever be,
How lucky we are to have loved you,
And for the rest of our lives, we will miss you terribly.
Our home is too quiet ,
Without your snores or sighs,
Our laps and hearts are empty,
You were our hardest goodbye.
