Maximus Pennington

2016 - October 9th 2025

Maximus was my whole life, especially as my kids got older.

He was my boy. We did everything together.

We got Maximus just after my step son’s accident that left him quadriplegic. Once Avery got released from the hospital I was the one providing all of the care for him. So it was just Avery, Maximus and I for many months. Max would come on all of our hospital trips, and was often seen drinking from the hospital’s bathroom sinks. He brought pleasure to so many people in the hospital since he was still just a pup during that time. He wasn’t your typical service or compassion animal that you see in the hospital, so that made the others there love him that much more.

For his ten years with us, Maximus was always at my side. He couldn’t come with me to work, although I sure wish he could have been allowed, we both would have loved it. If I was invited anywhere and he couldn’t come I usually didn’t go. The whole family adored the crap out of him, he was the centre of our home, always.

Maximus is deeply missed. There seems to be videos of new puppies everywhere I look these days, and I swore I’d not get one….. But I really miss his comfort.
