To our sweet Ollie Bum: You were the sweetest most gentle and caring little dog.
Ollie was our 1st family pet. After years of not having a dog because our dad was allergic we did our own research and found you can get a puppy who is hypo allergenic and didn’t make dad sneeze. I came home one evening to find my family had brought home the cutest fluffy white puppy. We decided to call him Ollie (or sometimes Oliver when he was naughty ). For a family who wanted a dog for the longest time we did not treat Ollie as a dog, he was our baby. He was treated to happy meals and car rides regularly and we didn’t leave the house without him. Our first realization Ollie was maybe just a little spoiled came when he was about 2 and our cousins came over with their Shih Tzu who could walk up and down steps and jump on to the beds. We were shocked but quickly learned it’s not that Ollie couldn’t do those things, but that he didn’t have to!
We went on a family camping trip the first summer after we got Ollie ( he would have been about 7 months old ). Although we were having a great time and we left Ollie with a very caring and loving puppy sitter we just missed him too much. So dad drove the couple hours home to get him and brought him to our campsite. Funny enough, once they got back we all decided that we had had enough camping and just wanted to go home and spend the last bit of our vacation with Ollie at home.
Ollie was always so friendly to everyone he met even jumping into peoples cars to see if they would take him for a ride (even sometimes with customers who would stop by our business!)
We brought home a friend for Ollie when he was 2 years old. He took care of our new little puppy Zoie like a little mother, he was always by her side. They were best friends and soulmates. We had to say goodby to Zoie this past December and Ollie’s health seemed to decline since then. It brings us happiness knowing they are together again and taking care of each other.
In his younger years Ollie’s favourite thing to do was to sit on the centre console and drive around looking out the window. He would wag his tail in excitement when we would find “moo moos”!
Ollie Bum, you will be forever missed but the memories you gave us will bring us joy and smiles everyday. We know you are back with Zoie running around and taking care of each other which brings us so much peace.
We love you and miss you more the anything!
Love: Kaylee, Mom, Dad, Ashley, Nikki and all our family
