Ruby Crane

January 24th 2009 - December 13th 2022

Our Ruby was such a character and turned into a total diva when the camera came out!  We had such a close relationship and bond that she instantly trusted me when I came up with these hair-brained ideas for fun photo shoots. I literally have thousands of pictures of her over our wonderful 14 years together.

Ruby’s health started to change over her last few months. It felt surreal to share our last walk together and to present my girl with a special Lindt chocolate as a treat that she had been allowed to experience. While it was so heartbreaking to say goodbye, and I’ve shed many tears, it left a peaceful feeling in my heart to not see my sweet girl in any pain anymore. I am so relieved that I was able to give her the gift of passing peacefully at home, in the warmth of our home and surrounded by the love of her fur-siblings and family members. It’s so strange coming down stairs in the morning and not being greeted at the bottom of the steps by that beautiful little husky face and wagging tail.  Surprisingly though, I am at peace with Ruby’s passing.  It’s definitely because of the level of service and care Dr. Erica and you provided plus the outpouring of messages from so many people.  Ruby touched the lives of so many… I think I’ll be forever known as “Ruby’s mom” in my neighborhood!

Ruby is eternally loved and missed by,

Eileen and Glen, Hurley, Chloe, Little Man & Fergus, and the many other friends, relatives and neighbours who Ruby loved to give a friendly wag!
