Waffles Ball
January 24, 2017 (Gotcha Day at about 5 yrs old) - December 2, 2022
Waffles was a sweet, silly girl who we only met and adopted from Ohio about halfway through her life. She loved camping and hiking from the very first time we took her, and it was our absolute favourite thing to do together. She loved playing with her squirrel and hedgie toys, belly rubs in a sunny spot and getting snacks. She'd come trotting through the house the second she heard a banana being peeled or a cucumber being cut up. We miss the sound of her “tippy taps” in the house so much.
Waffles enjoyed meeting people - if they would give her bum scratches that is. Even strangers would remark on how puppy-like she was - especially when she played in the snow - right up until she got sick at the age of 11. Despite hard circumstances the first few years of her life (before we adopted her), she had a kind and goofy spirit.
She taught Brian and I so much and as our first dog, really made us a family. She is irreplaceable and losing her, which happened so quickly, has been painful. Our girl went peacefully and comfortably in her favorite donut bed at home, and that’s all we could ask for in the end.
We wouldn't trade our time with her for anything and wish so badly that we had more. Brian and I will miss her forever and see reminders of her everywhere.
Waffles is missed greatly by Rhiannon and Brian, our parents (Waffles’ grandparents), her godparents Liz and Jeff, and the many people who loved her.
