Ted Templeman-Swinkels

2010 - March 23rd 2026

We adopted Ted well into his adulthood in 2018, we think he was around 8. We soon realized that Ted was the boss. If you came to our house, you could hear him from any room. If you slept over, goodluck, he loved singing well into the night.

When Ted came to us, his coat was matted and he had to be shaved. That Halloween, the Trick-or-Treaters weren't sure what to think of his haircut, neither did he. Ted was always a staple at the front window, peeking out. His coat grew back big and better than ever. His baths would take hours.

He tried to be an outdoor farm cat when we moved to the country, but the burrs, the mulch in the gardens and the long grass got the better of him. Ted was better indoors, napping in the sun or by the fireplace. Ted loved his treats, nip, tuna, frothy dairy meant for coffees or pieces of old cheddar .. pretty much whatever he could get his paws on.

In all of our years having pets, there truly was no cat like Ted; he was spunky, the loudest one in the room and oh so pretty with those baby blues. The house is too quiet, but we keep finding tumbleweeds of long fur around the house.

March 23, 2026 we said our last goodbye.

Run Free dear Ted - you left paw prints on our hearts!
