“My sweet boy,
The twelve short years we had together will never be enough. Everyone that you ever met universally agreed that you were the best boy. Dad and I often got compliments about what wonderful trainers we must be, but that was just you. You were perfect all on your own and you chose to share that perfection with us.
You were there for us through cross country moves, six different cities, marriage, house purchases, newborns, toddlers, career changes, and all the hardships and wonders that come with being young adults.
Throughout it all you’ve been a steadfast companion and given us unconditional love.
We’ll never forget the way you sang to ambulances. We’ll never forget seeing you watch over our babies when we brought them home. We’ll never forget the way you ran and yipped in your sleep despite rarely making a peep when you were awake. And we will never forget how you would insert yourself into any emotional situation and lay directly on us crushing us with love until we calmed down.
Rest easy sweet boy. Thank you for loving us. And thank you for being the best ride or die.”
Jack was born on April 20th, 2011, and he was adopted on April 20th. 2014, from the Charlottetown Humane Society.
